Introducing Sebastian Signs!

Ver Unica is proud to welcome LA-based fragrance company Sebastian Signs to our Hayes Valley stores! Sebastian Signs was created by Sherri Sebastian, a chemist and former “nose” for high end fragrance houses. Sherri launched her personal collection based on the philosophy that luxury and indulgence are essential parts of enjoying life, and that luxurious fragrances don’t have to come loaded with chemicals. Her rich, delectable fragrances are made in small batches of oils sourced by Sherri herself and made by the world’s best farmers. That attention to detail shows in her No 17 and No 35 pure perfume oils ($42) and goats milk soaps ($11), stocked at Ver Unica in limited quantities.

No 17- A light, creamy fragrance of amber, dark chocolate, sandalwood, vanilla, and just a hint of Nag Champa. 

No 35- A dreamy floral concoction of bergamot, corriander, Bulgarian rose, jasmine, and vanilla bean.

New Mary Oros Jewelry Collection at Ver Unica!

We could not be more excited to show you the latest jewelry collection to hit Ver Unica's stores! Famed bay area sculptor and artist Mary Oros created an iconic and highly sought-after jewelry line from 1986 to 1990, and we have been lucky enough to get a large collection of dead stock pieces for our stores! Each piece is made of cast resin, colored individually in vibrant metallics paint hand selected by Mary herself, and covered in acrylic for shine and durability. Some pieces are made to look like they have stones, others are made to look like brass and silver, and all are outstanding statements. Mary's work was featured in Bazaar and other high-end fashion magazines in the late 80's and has attained a highly collectible status since then. Here are just a few of the pieces we have to offer....

Book Release Party at Ver Unica Recap

Last Thursday we had the pleasure of hosting author Erin McKean's release party for her delightful novel The Secret Lives of Dresses, and we had a blast! Guests showed up in their best vintage dresses, and Erin made up one line "secret lives" for anyone who took home a new frock that night (typed on her own vintage typewriter, no less!). She also sold autographed copies of the book and gave out simply darling customized tape measures as party favors. Erin couldn't have looked more lovely in her handmade book dress and was a most gracious and humble party host.
